Items You Should Never Flush Down the Toilet
The fastest way to clog up your toilet is to flush something that shouldn’t be in there. Nothing other than toilet paper or human waste should go down your toilet drain—and that includes paper towels, napkins, and facial tissues, which aren’t designed to break up as quickly as toilet paper and can quickly clog the line. Disposable diapers, tampons, and condoms should all be thrown in the trash, not the toilet bowl. Never dispose of gum, pills, cooking grease, cat litter, or any kind of food in your toilet. Finally, don’t flush baby wipes, even if the package insists that they are “flushable.”
